Bin Lorry Design Competition With The Children's Hospital Charity

We are excited to finally reveal our latest bin lorry design!

Over the last few months, we’ve worked closely with The Children’s Hospital Charity to run a drawing competition for children across Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The children were asked to create drawings that will support our chosen slogan, ‘Recycle with our children’s future in mind’. Whether they wanted to create superheroes such as Environment Man or their own creative idea, we felt their drawings would help get the people of Sheffield to take action and think more about recycling and the importance of protecting the environment.

There were lots of fantastic designs to choose from, and after much deliberation, we decided on our two winners: Peter, aged nine and Zeynep, aged fifteen.

Both drawings are now printed on our wagon, which drives around Sheffield every day, collecting waste from businesses and households across the city. We are so grateful for the Charity’s help in organising the competition and would like to thank all the children who entered!

Gavin Leverett, Managing Director at Fletchers Waste, said: “We’ve always strongly appreciated and supported the fantastic work this Charity does for children. It has been lovely working with them to create our new bin lorry design.

“I loved looking through the children’s drawings; it was difficult to choose only two! I think Zeynep and Peter’s excellent designs are a touching and inspiring way to encourage us to protect the environment for our children’s future.”

We are so grateful to Fletcher’s for their continued support of the Charity, to see the new vans unveiled with the designs from former patients at the hospital was brilliant. Every penny raised through our partnership with Fletcher’s will help support patients and families where it’s needed most at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Thank you to the whole team at Fletchers!
