To learn more about the project and Avonside’s needs, a dedicated account manager was assigned and arranged a site visit to complete a waste/needs audit. As chutes are placed from the roof directly into the skips, it meant they were quickly filled, emphasising the need for a quick turnaround and flexibility to ensure no delays to the project.
Our Account Manager was proactive and worked closely with Avonside’s Site Manager to get up to date work schedules. Doing this helped us pre-plan as much as possible and ensure skips were available for delivery and exchange. As a result, throughout the initial eight months of the contract, Fletchers has collected more than 7500 tonnes of mixed waste, including tiles, concrete and timber. Although the skips were on a fast turnaround, it did not mean our waste recycling efforts were overlooked.
A critical factor in Avonside choosing Fletchers to provide their skips was our dedication to recycling over 98% of the waste we collect. Our large-scale, professional facility allowed us to carefully segregate the waste from the 180 skips. Waste such as tiles are broken down with specialist machinery and turned into hardcore which can be reused on other construction projects across the UK.
